PLEX Awarded
Pre-Development Funding!
The Community Design
Center Rochester is pleased to announce that we have awarded $5,000 in funding
to the Plymouth Exchange Neighborhood Association through our
Development/Design Fund Program. The program, entering its second year, awards
funding to non-profit 501c3 organizations to hire design professionals to
complete pre-development studies on projects in their communities. We have been
very excited to see an increased interest in the program since we have expanded
the eligibility area to include the northeast, northwest, and southwest
quadrants of Rochester!
The Plymouth Exchange
Neighborhood Association (PLEX), located in Rochester's southwest quadrant, is
seeking conceptual site design and planning assistance for a large vacant lot
at the north end of their neighborhood. In an area that is home to a large
population of children and the elderly, there is no place for recreation and
PLEX has identified this lot as an ideal location for a community park. This
location might also serve as a gateway into the neighborhood as well as an
access point to the Genesee Riverway Trail. The project has the support of
several community partners as seen during a recent neighborhood walkthrough in
conjunction with the Community Design Center's Reshaping Rochester lecture
series.
We would like to congratulate PLEX on their award, and we look forward to working with themon this fantastic project.
